New ideas and concepts are being brought to the attention of players of all levels, ages, conditions and styles. Golf bags are certainly no exception.

There are many different styles out there for you to choose from depending on how you prefer to get around the course. Lite-weight with a stand might be for you if you like to walk the course, maybe a cart bag or a more traditional bag suits your golfing needs.
If you are looking for something that is of the highest level of quality and durability, a good decision might be to take a closer look at Ogio golf bags or Ping golf bags. These are among the best makers of top quality golf bags, along with Izzo, Bag Boy, Callaway Golf and Datrek.

If convenience, style and durability are what you are looking for, review some of the top quality makers of golf bags. There is without a doubt one or more different styles perfect for you. Take a closer look at the extensive line of Ogio golf bags and Ping golf bags that are available to you. Ogio’s popular models include Voltage, Vaporlite, T-Zone. Also check out Pings Retro, Trailblazer and their Hoofer stand bags. Whether you need a carry, cart, traditional or even a travel bag, is up to you. It all depends on your style of game. Some golfers have two golf bags, one for when they feel like walking, and another for those days when they would prefer to use a pull cart. Cart bags are usually a little bulkier than the average carry bag.

Golf bags are obviously an essential piece of equipment for all golfers. There are many factors to consider when choosing the right one for you such as, color, size, weight, material and style. There are many choices for you to choose from, and a very large selection especially made for the growing number of women golfers. Although we recommend Ping golf bags and Ogio golf bags, there are tons of others we could recommend that are just as reputable, durable and surprisingly affordable.

Golf is a game where even the lucky few in the professional ranks search endlessly for extra yardage, the perfect bunker shot, and the inch perfect putt, so for those of us at club level any technological advantage is well worth having.
Key to realizing many of these goals is having the latest golf equipment, and whether you need to improve your swing, or you are just looking to improve your reputation in the latest golfing trends, saving money on golf equipment is seriously worthwhile.

Golf is one of the most popular pastimes and owes much of its appeal to the fact that you can play the game from a very young age until the point when you can no longer swing the club. The handicapping system, minimizing advantages and enabling players of different ability levels to play competitively together, means that trying to find that extra edge is all the more important if you are to come out on top. Even when bad weather, darkness or old age halts play, there are literally thousands of videos, DVDs, books and golf related gifts to amuse occupy and motivate your non-playing hours and keep the dream alive.

To maximize time on the course, there is a lot of advantage in shopping online from the comfort of your home or during breaks at work, not only will you be able to save money on golf equipment, but you will also be able to benefit from delivery to a designated location; ideal if you want to send a gift. You can choose from specialist golf clubs, all types of golfing paraphernalia and a broad range of gift ideas, and the great thing is that you have a really wide range of options to review and the prices are generally much lower than via retail outlets.

Here are few tips to shop online.

-Shop with Golf Card
-Consider buying Golf clone equipment
-Use coupons websites to search for Golf coupons and Savings
-Use variety of keywords for searching such as “discount golf”, ”golf savings”,” golf coupons”

So, rather than just fantasizing about the great improvements that you could make to your golf game, take the plunge and go online, to save money on golf equipment. You will discover a whole world of possibilities and maximize your spending money in the process. You may not end up challenging Tiger Woods for the Green Jacket, but at least you can continue to fuel the dream!
When you think of Indiana, your mind might not immediately go to golf. Many people consider this state to be the home of racing with the Indy 500 held here in Indianapolis, but it’s also a great midwestern getaway for golf enthusiasts. With many different golf courses and lodgings located here, chances are you’ll find just the right place for your golf vacation.

A quick look at Indiana Traveler’s website lists many different golf courses in many different towns and cities. While these are all options for the golf vacationer, it’s often better to combine your golf course and resort in one place. One of the largest of the Indiana golf lodgings is Swan Lake, located in Plymouth, Indiana. This resort is home to the Indiana National Golf Club and the US Golf Academy. The Indiana National Golf Club houses two championship golf courses, and the Golf Academy has lessons and other activities available for the golfer. Swan Lake is a beautiful building, picturesque and perfect for weddings and meetings as well as vacations. There are 92 guest rooms, four cottages and two cabins available as lodgings, and other amenities include spas and pools for those times you’re not on the links.

A second of the many Indiana golf lodgings available is the Eagle Pointe Golf Resort just 10 minutes south of Bloomington, Indiana. This resort offers a 6700 yard championship golf course, a pro shop, driving range and a PGA professional on staff. The lodgings here are also first rate; they are all condos with one to four bedrooms each, and they include use of the pools and other amenities. This resort also has spectacular views of the Monroe Reservoir, Indiana’s largest lake.

One last look at the Indiana golf lodgings brings us to the French Lick Springs Resort and Casino. This resort, located in French Lick, Indiana, combines all of the excitement of a casino and spa retreat with great golfing. Under renovation until November 2006, the hotel will house 442 guest rooms and be opulent and impressive. Located on the resort property is the Donald Ross Course, which held many national and regional tournaments, and will in August 2006 be reopened after being renovated and restored.

There are many different places in the country to golf, but choosing one of the Indiana golf lodgings will allow you not only a golfing vacation, but also a great stay at a great resort. Centrally located in the Midwest United States, these lodgings are a great place for anyone in the US to come and relax, and get in a few rounds of golf while you’re there.
Fortunately, this report includes the latest Golf info available.

Golf pros can give contradicting advice. It is common to read one golf player’s advice and then when you read another article or book, to have a different player say the complete opposite. For example, one pro says to keep your head straight, but another person comes along with an entirely different set of rules.
What should you do?

You should listen to me, of course.

All people are different and no two of us play exactly alike. This is why it is a great idea to not concentrate on one particular method of playing golf.

Some basics can make or break your golf game. And I am telling you to keep your head still and not move it during your swing.

If you don’t have accurate details regarding Golf, then you might make a bad choice on the subject. Don’t let that happen: keep reading.

It is impossible to keep your head still if you tense up your muscles. Keeping your head still helps you to loosen up and allows you to finish your swing smoothly. By keeping your head still, you can also prevent the dreaded slice because you do not have to pull your hands in to keep balanced.

A golf championship winner said that every time he prepared to make a shot, he said to himself, “Keep your head still.” It is a necessity to a good golf swing that many players do not concentrate on.

If you can become successful at just this one skill, you will find your golf game improving. When you make a terrible shot, concentrate on keeping your head still during the next swing.

If you keep your head still, it will be possible to see the ball during the entire swing. If your head is moving, it will be impossible to keep your eye on the ball.

You can build your confidence by using this one technique. Keep your head still enough to keep a jar of water on the top of your head perfectly still and watch the ball as you swing. You will be able to see the ball better and hit it more solidly.

Even if you are nervous when you are playing, keep these two tips in mind and your game will definitely improve!

Hopefully the tips above have contributed to your understanding of Golf. Share your new tips about Golf with others. They’ll thank you for it.
Those golfers who ask these sorts of questions about golf fitness and exercise sometimes nostalgically cast their minds back to the so called good old days of the golf game when the game was strictly a leisure sport where one hardly needed to break into a sweat to thoroughly enjoy themselves on the course.

The modern golf game has changed dramatically and permanently. Although golf is still very much the leisure sport that has given pleasure to thousands over the years even with the golf fitness and exercise programs. If anything these golf fitness and exercise programs have given many more people a chance to master the game much faster and really get to enjoy it.

Assuming that a golfer would want to skip golf fitness and exercise they would find themselves faced with one major problem. Increasingly they would find themselves frustrated and would be faced with a situation where it would seem that the standard of their game is dropping.

Actually what would be happening is that the pressure of playing against golfers involved in golf fitness and exercise programs would be taking its’ toll.

There are few things that are as infuriating and frustrating as seeing your opponent effortlessly run rings around you on the course just because they have taken golf fitness and exercise seriously and you have not.

In all likelihood the golfer who is determined to do without golf fitness and exercises, just like in the old days, would increasingly find themselves in a position where they enjoy their game less and less.
Here’s a question to all golfers out there. If the pros look like they are making this simple movement, why are you twisting up in circles and swinging out of your shoes on every shot?

It makes sense to me that if the best players in the world have a simple, easy movement, you should be trying to copy what they are doing. Unfortunately, as much as you want this simple, easy swing, you can’t do it. Why? Because simple … is difficult.

Simple is Difficult?

What do I mean by simple is difficult? What I mean, is the less you move your body in golf, the harder it is. Now you’re probably thinking that this just doesn’t make sense. Everyone knows that If you were to move less it would be much easier! Well if this were the case, you would be seeing everyone with nice, compact, easy golf swings out there and I would have no reason to write this tip. Here are the reasons you don’t have a simple, easy, compact swing:

1. Human Nature

A couple of ways human nature affects your swing is that it is telling you that the farther you swing back, the farther you will hit the ball. It’s also saying that the harder you hit the ball, the farther it will go. Both of these thoughts involve your arms and hitting the ball hard. Unfortunately, you are only so strong. If golf was a purely a strength game, every body builder would also be a professional golfer. Also, if golf was a strength game, you would have never heard of Chi Chi Rodriguez, who, in his prime, was only 128 lbs.

Now that you understand that you don’t have to have a long backswing to generate power, how far should you go back? I tell my students that once their shoulder rotation stops, so should the club. You want the shoulder rotation to determine your backswing length instead of your club still going back long after the shoulders have stopped. At first, this shorter backswing will feel like you don’t have a lot of power so it will be more difficult to do, but as you get used to it, you will soon see your shots fly just as far, if not farther, with half the backswing.

The feeling of hitting the ball hard must be eliminated from your swing as well as the long backswing. This is because harder you try to hit the ball, the tighter your wrists will become. If your wrists tighten, the club will actually swing slower and the clubface may be held open at impact causing you to spin the ball to the right. In order to understand the proper feeling you should have in your wrists, think of them like a hinge on a door. The hinge on a door is loose and free flowing. There is no resistance. If you keep your wrists as loose as a hinge on a door, you will allow the club to whip faster and square up through impact. This whipping action is what gives a pro tremendous clubhead speed with what looks like an effortless swing.

2. Distance Doesn’t Necessarily Equal Effort

Throughout your golfing life, you have equated “X” amount of power, with “X” amount of distance. As an example, if you were to swing really hard, your mind is saying that this should produce a really long shot. Unfortunately, the harder you swing, the shorter the shot ends up going. As I explained above, the harder you swing, the tighter you get, the more the clubface will hit the ball in an open position. So when I tell you that you should swing easier and looser, you have to convince you mind that this is going to produce shots that will go farther than ever before. If you don’t believe me, think back to the time you hit that one drive 30 – 50 yards farther than any other shot in your life. What did you feel when you hit this shot? I bet you said that you felt “nothing” and that it was “effortless.” This means that you could not have swung really hard yet you produced a shot that went farther than ever before.

The hardest part about swinging effortlessly is that it goes against what your brain is thinking. Your brain is thinking that swinging hard equals more power and swinging easy equals less power. If you think about the pros, they look like they are barley swinging and yet they can hit the ball a long way. So forget about trying to smash it as hard as you can. Swing in control and you will be amazed at how far you will hit it even though it doesn’t feel like you are putting any effort into it at all.

3. Less Movement is More Strenuous

Now I know you’re shaking your head at this topic because you know for a fact that if you move less it can’t possibly more strenuous right? Wrong! Moving less in the golf swing is more strenuous because moving less creates a tighter, more coiled up swing. To understand what I mean, think about your backswing. Imagine turning your shoulders back while resisting the lower body rotation. If you did, you would feel very tightly coiled because your hips would move approximately half that of the shoulders. This tight, coiling in the backswing will allow your body to uncoil quickly in the downswing. Think of it like a spring. If you coil up a spring, it will snap back very quickly. Now imagine if you were to turn your shoulders back but this time you lifted your left heel and turned your hips excessively. If you did, you would move more than if you resisted with your hips and you would not develop this tight, wound up, feeling. If you are not tightly coiled, you will not uncoil properly thus causing you to use your arms to hit the ball. So turning back more is actually less strenuous because by turning more, you don’t get the same tight wound up feeling you get when you resist your hip rotation in the backswing.

Here’s a re-cap of 4 things you can do to make your swing look like that of a pro:

1. Shorten up your backswing. When your shoulders stop, so should your club.

2. Keep your wrists looser to allow the club to whip faster.

3. Convince yourself that swinging easier will hit the ball farther than swinging harder.

4. Resist the lower body rotation to create a simple backswing and tighter coil.

If you can work on these 4 things, you will start to look like the pros you idolize. The more you look like them when you swing, the more you will start hit it like them when you play.

Here’s a question I sometimes ask when giving a golf lesson. What do pro golfers Jose Maria Olazabal, Tiger Woods, and Sergio Garcia all have in common? Answer: They don’t hit into trouble often, but when they do, their short games save them, and accurate chipping is one of the most potent weapons in their short game. In fact, most players with low golf handicaps chip accurately.

The chip shot is one of the easiest shots to learn in golf. It’s also one of the most crucial. In medal play, accurate chipping can save you one or two strokes on a hole, sometimes more. In match play, it can be the difference between winning or losing a hole or a match. And in player rankings, it’s often what separates players with high golf handicaps from those with low ones.

Confidence, experience, and imagination all contribute to accurate chipping. But so does good technique. Below are 6 keys to accurate chipping:

1.Decide on a landing spot
2.Use a one-piece takeaway
3.Maintain weight on front side
4.Keep hands ahead of clubhead
5.Hold the clubhead
6.Accelerate the club through the ball

Professional golfers play a wide variety of shots around the green. One player may use a sand wedge to chip with from a certain spot, while another hits a 9 iron from the same spot. Regardless of what club they use, they all pick out a landing spot before hitting the ball, which they play the ball off their left heels.

Picking a landing spot is imperative, as I’ve mentioned in my golf tips. So is using a one-piece takeaway. In fact, it’s as important in chipping as it is in driving. Since the shot is hit mostly with your arms and hands, it requires little or no weight transfer, so place your weight on your front side and keep it there. Also, keep your head still when hitting the ball.

The backswing is important as well. The length determines the length of the shot— the longer the backswing, the longer the shot. Be mindful of your backswing when chipping. Also, take the club back smoothly and slowly, allowing your wrists to hinge naturally.

When committing to the downswing, make sure your hands stay ahead of the clubhead to ensure crisp ball-before-turf contact. The objective is to slide the blade of the clubhead under the ball, taking only a sliver of turf in the process.

Also, don’t allow your right hand to cross over your left through impact. Known as “holding the clubhead,” the technique keeps the clubface open, creating a high shot that lands softly on the ground.

In my golf tips I tell players to finish in balance and with their hands slightly higher than the height of their backswing. Doing so indicates that the golfer has accelerated the clubhead through the ball. The motion is similar to throwing a ball underhanded, which I sometimes have players do in my golf lessons to get a feel for the shot.

Change the Club Drill
The change-the-club drill is an excellent exercise for practicing your chipping. It simulates hitting from the fringe of the green or fairway when your landing spot is about 3 feet away, but the ball needs to roll about 15 feet or more. The idea is to hit various clubs with the same motion to learn reaction and distance. It’s a golf lesson in itself.

Choose a green that’s a challenge. Maybe it has some valleys in it or maybe a significant side slope. Then pick a spot about five feet off the green and drop a ball. Set one club about two and a half feet behind the ball and another club about two and a half feet in front of the ball to give you an idea of distance. With the identical motion hit chip shots with each of four clubs—the sand wedge, 9 iron, 7 iron, and 5 iron.

After hitting the ball you’ll notice that the ball runs father as the clubs get lower and lower. Pick the club that will land the ball about two to three feet on the green and run the rest of the way to the hole. Remember to factor in slope and/or the speed of the green when selecting a club.

Using different clubs will give you a better feel for which club runs the ball farther and which lands softly and stops, making club selection somewhat easier next time you play.

Keep practicing this drill until can get within a foot of the pin every time. By then, you should start seeing the benefits of accurate pitching not only in better scores but also in a lower golf handicap. And that will keep you practicing for better results.
This is because the golf swing fundamentals make up the golf swing which is at the heart of the game of golf.

Golf swing fundamentals are to be found in the three segments of a proper golf swing which are the backswing, the downswing and thirdly the impact and follow through.

The backswing is one of the important golf swing fundamentals because every shot begins here. If the backswing falls short, so will the resulting hit. At this stage, focus should be placed equally on body rotation and club and arm extension.

Moving to the downswing as another golf swing fundamental, this movement actually starts in the legs and the hips, rather than the arm. There should be a clear transfer of body weight from back to front with the knees, thighs and hips all beginning to move forward. This should be the correct movement in every proper golf swing.

The impact and follow through are the golf swing fundamentals that complete the entire swing. At impact the body weight should be on the outside of the forward heel and the inside of the rear foot.

The entire awkward movement of the golf swing is unnatural to the body and this is why the body resists and it becomes very difficult to develop all the smooth movements that go into the proper golf swing fundamentals.

Even endless practice may not be as effective in developing your body muscles in such a way that the golf swing fundamentals come as natural as possible. This is where exercise comes in to play a key role. Many golfers have successfully used golf-specific exercises and conditioning to improve their golf swing fundamentals.
For example golf training exercises using weights are not designed to built bulky muscles. Usually much lighter weights will be used and will be lifted more times as opposed to normal muscle-building training which will involve much heavier weights being lifted fewer times. The muscle-building exercises will also call for longer hours of exercises daily. Golf training exercises will usually take very little time.

What is more is that many golf training stretch exercises can easily be carried out in your office, while still seated at your desk or work station. This means that even if you have the sort of schedule that leaves you with practically no time to spare, you can still find the time to put in some serious golf training exercises that will take your game of golf to another level that you have never known before.

There is plenty more evidence that golf training exercises are not as rigorous and difficult as some would want to believe. For example in my golf training exercise programs I have worked with very young and very old golfers with the same success. Youngsters will have difficulties taking in extremely rigorous exercises and so will senior citizens.

Golf training exercises are not designed to help prepare you for a record-breaking 100 meter dash down the track. Or for an Olympic gold medal in weight-lifting or gymnastics. The training schedule for these accomplishments naturally require lots of will power and discipline to even start.

Instead golf training exercises are usually very specific and are designed to impact particular aspects of your golf game.
By swinging the club exactly the same way, he’s able to repeat his golf swing again and again and again. The more he repeats his swing, the more often he generates predictable results.

For Tiger, predictable results mean more tournament wins and higher earnings. For the rest of us, it means better scores and lower golf handicaps.
Building a repeatable swing is ultimately the goal of all golf instruction. The secret to producing a repeatable swing with your irons is keeping the clubface square to the swing path. Failing to do so forces you to make compensatory moves to return the clubface square to the ball.

Five other keys to building a repeatable swing are

Staying connected:
One common factor among good players, in addition to low golf handicaps, is “staying connected” during the swing. In other words, good players feature a one-piece takeaway from the ball, which I often stress in my golf tips and golf lessons. Staying connected means that everything—your club hands, arms, and shoulders—moves away from the ball in unison as you start your backswing, ensuring that the clubhead travels on a wide arc away from the ball.

Set the club on the correct plane
A repeatable swing sets the club on the correct plane. To do so, hinge or cock your wrists as you move into the backswing. As your arms continue to swing upward and your body to turn, the wrists point the clubhead skyward while your left shoulder replaces the right shoulder at address. The angle of the shaft to the ball stays the same and the clubhead remains square to the swing’s path.

Swing into the top slot
As the top of the backswing, your club moves into “the slot” position, where the club’s shaft is horizontal to the ground and parallel to the target line. Also, the clubface’s angle matches your arm angle. Known as square or neutral, this is the ideal position to aim for at the top of the backswing. In addition, your original spine angle and your head position remain the same as at address. Your shoulders are turned 90 degrees, while your hips are turned 45 degrees. Most of your weight is over the right foot and you feel resistance in your right knee and right thigh.

Retain the force of the swing
Settle your weight smoothly back on your left side and start to unwind the upper body, as you move into the downswing. Also, drop your right elbow (for right handers) down to your side. This flattens the swing slightly. (This is Herb Pennick’s “Magic Move,” which I’ve previously covered in my golf tips.). As you shift your weight to the left side, your right heel comes off the ground slightly. Try retaining the 90 degree angle between your left wrist and the club’s shaft as long as possible. Your hands lead the club into the ball at impact.

Open your shoulders at impact
It’s a common belief that your shoulders should return to a square position at impact. I always address this point when giving golf lessons. In fact, your shoulders should occupy a slightly open position at impact, ensuring that the club has the room needed to travel on the correct path through the ball. In short, your body has to “get out of the way” for consistent ball striking with your irons. Finish with a balanced follow-through.

Also, important in building a repeatable swing is striking the ball cleanly and crisply. Work on this drill to improve your ballstriking. It’s a staple of my golf instruction.

• Start by assuming the ideal impact position at address with one of your irons. Start by shifting your weight onto the left side (for right-handers) and lift the right heel off the ground a fraction. The hips and shoulders are slightly open with the head over the ball, creating the feeling of a good impact position. Now, move into the back swing, shifting your weight to the right side. Return your weight to the left side, swinging the club down and through at impact. Move through the swing to a balanced position, with your weight on your front foot.

Practice this drill again and again and again until you feel yourself swinging the club the same way. Building that repeatable swing produces accuracy, consistency, and a lower golf handicap. Yours may not look like Tiger’s but it can produce more consistent and better results.
